Rainbow Six Siege X Announced: A New Era Begins in the Game
Ubisoft has announced Siege X, a major update for the popular tactical shooter Rainbow Six Siege. This update is designed to celebrate the game’s 10th anniversary and aims to deliver a brand-new experience to players.
What is Siege X?
Siege X is the biggest update Rainbow Six Siege has ever received. Similar to how CS:GO evolved into CS2, this update brings a game engine overhaul. With this update:
- Enhanced Graphics and Sound: The game’s visual and auditory elements will be significantly improved.
- Deeper Tactical Gameplay: New game mechanics and strategic options will be added.
- New Game Modes: In addition to the existing bomb defusal modes, different game modes will also be introduced.
From the rumors and short clips shared, it seems that environmental interaction in the game will be greatly enhanced. We also saw a scene where Sledge and Kapkan were on the same team. Seeing these two characters—one an attacker and the other a defender—side by side was surprising. Additionally, the gameplay appears to be much faster and more dynamic.
Siege X Showcase Event
The details of this major update will be revealed at the Siege X Showcase event on March 13, 2025. The event will start at 6 pm CET and will be streamed live on Rainbow Six Siege’s official Twitch channel. As always, we will share everything shown during the event with you.
New Operator: Rauora
Before Siege X arrives, a new operator named Rauora will join the attacking team starting March 4th with Operation Prep Phase. Rauora’s special ability, the D.O.M. Panel Launcher, allows her to deploy bulletproof panels on doors, enabling her team to reshape the battlefield and control the flow of combat. As usual, Rauora will be accessible via the Battle Pass at the start of the season and will be unlockable with Renown or R6 Credits two weeks later.
