Sony Removes PlayStation Account Requirement for PC Games
PlayStation announced that it has removed the mandatory PlayStation Network (PSN) account linking requirement for upcoming games on PC. However, exclusive content will be offered to players who choose to link their accounts.
Optional Account Linking and Rewards
PSN accounts will no longer be mandatory for PC games, but users who link their accounts will gain access to the following additional content:
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2
Spider-Man 2099 Black Suit and Miles Morales 2099 Suit.God of War Ragnarok
Kratos’ “Black Bear Armor Set” + resource pack (500 Hacksilver + 250 XP).The Last of Us Part II Remastered
Ellie’s “Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet” themed Jordan Jacket + 50 bonus points.Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered

The PlayStation account requirement had sparked significant backlash, particularly during the Helldivers 2 controversy, where Sony was forced to backtrack. With ongoing criticism, the company now appears to have decided to completely withdraw the requirement.
