First Test Announcement Coming for the New Battlefield Game!
Electronic Arts is preparing to share details about the first test program for the new Battlefield game. Announcements will be made tomorrow at 5PM CET / 8AM PDT through Battlefield’s official social media channels.
EA states that the new Battlefield game has been undergoing internal testing for a long time and is being played daily within the studio. Previously, it was announced that community testing would begin in 2025, and it appears the first steps of this process are now being taken.
Battlefield Returns to the Modern Era
According to previous information, the series will follow in the footsteps of Battlefield 3 and 4. The game is moving away from 2042’s futuristic theme and returning to a modern warfare setting. Additionally:
- The classic class system is returning (removing the Specialist system)
- Focus will be on 64-player battles instead of 128-player massive maps
All of EA Working Together
The new Battlefield is being developed under DICE’s leadership, but many studios including Criterion, Motive, and BioWare are also working as support teams. EA is placing significant importance on this game. If it doesn’t succeed, things could start going badly for EA.
