GTA V’s PC Version Gets a Free Next-Gen Update
Rockstar Games has announced that on March 4, 2025, the PC version of Grand Theft Auto V will receive a free next-gen update. This update will bring features previously exclusive to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S to PC players.
What’s New in the Update?
Enhanced Graphics Options: Visual improvements like ray tracing, HDR support, and higher-resolution textures.
Hao’s Special Works (HSW): This exclusive workshop at Los Santos Car Meet will offer high-performance upgrades for select vehicles.
GTA+ Membership: PC players will gain access to the GTA+ membership, which includes exclusive benefits such as a monthly GTA$500,000 bonus.
Wildlife Photography: Capture images of animals across Southern San Andreas to earn daily rewards.
Career Progression & Updated Start Page: A new career tracking system for managing your criminal empire, along with an updated start page for quicker game access.
Technical Improvements
Ray Tracing Support: Realistic reflections and shadows with advanced ray tracing features.
AMD FSR & NVIDIA DLSS Support: Cutting-edge graphics technologies for better frame rates and resolutions.
Faster Loading Times: SSD and DirectStorage support significantly reduce loading times.

For Existing Players
Players who already own GTA V on PC can download this update for free and transfer their story mode and online progression to the new version. However, legacy support for the older version will remain, and both versions will be playable. However, players on different versions will not be able to join the same sessions.
GTA V Next-Gen System Requirements
The game requires a minimum of a GTX 1630 GPU and an Intel i7-4770 CPU, while the recommended setup includes an AMD Ryzen 5 3600 CPU and an RTX 3060 8GB GPU.
