Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition is celebrating its 5th anniversary and offering special gifts to players during this momentous occasion. Since its release, both the content and player community have continued to expand. Over these five years, the game has introduced numerous innovations:

- 10 new civilizations
- 17 civilizations in the “Return of Rome” DLC
- 3 civilizations in the “Chronicles: Battle for Greece” DLC
- 16 campaigns, 19 special scenarios (in “Victors & Vanquished”)
- New game modes: Empire Wars, Battle Royale, and more
Additionally, the game has received nearly 100 updates to date. These updates have fixed bugs, improved gameplay experience, and added new features.
In honor of this special anniversary, new purchasers of Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition will receive Lords of the West, Dawn of the Dukes, and Dynasties of India DLCs for free starting today.
