Fortnite Ballistic Arrives with Early Access!
On December 11th, a brand new mode is being added to the Fortnite universe: Fortnite Ballistic! This tactical FPS mode played from a first-person perspective will emphasize strategy, teamwork, and individual skills in a 5v5 format.
What is Fortnite Ballistic?
Ballistic is a round-based mode with high competitive intensity. Players are divided into two teams at the start of each match as attackers and defenders:
- Attackers: Attempt to install the Rift Point Device in a specific area of the map.
- Defenders: Focus on preventing the installation and detonation of this device.
To win a match, you need to secure a total of 7 rounds. Teams switch roles every 6 rounds, with defenders becoming attackers and vice versa.
Initial Features
Ballistic will launch in early access with the Metropol 10 map. Initially, there will be a limited number of weapons and items, but new maps, equipment, and mechanics will be added based on player feedback.
Items and Weapons
Players start with a Guardian Pistol and 800 Credits. Credits can be earned through eliminations or by placing the Rift Point Device. These credits can be used to purchase new weapons and equipment at the start of each round.
- Pump Shotgun: Effective at close range.
- Sniper Rifle: Creates significant impact with a single shot.
- Smoke Grenade and Flash Grenade: Provide strategic advantages.
Flex Devices
Each player can choose a Flex Device at the start of the match. These devices are powerful enough to change the course of a round:
- Proximity Mine
- Shield Bubble
- Reconnaissance Grenade
- Dispersal Bomb Device
- Fragment Effect Hand Grenade
Ranked and Unranked Modes
- Unranked: Offers a relaxed environment for players to get to know the mode and have fun.
- Ranked: For players seeking a more competitive experience. Leaving ranked matches can result in rank loss and penalties.
Compatibility and Customization
- Ballistic is a build-less mode. You can use many cosmetics from your Fortnite locker, such as outfits, back blings, and expressions.
- The game can be played on all platforms that support Fortnite (except South Korea and Russia).
