Football Manager 25’s Release Postponed to March 2025
The release date for Football Manager 25 has been delayed. According to an announcement by Sports Interactive, the game’s launch has been pushed back to March 2025. The studio stated that the decision to delay was made to maintain game quality and meet high standards. Though, by high standards, they probably mean a version that will further break the game.
Why Was the Delay Decision Made?
Sports Interactive expressed that they encountered more challenges than expected during the game’s development process, and despite the team’s intense efforts, progress wasn’t happening at the desired pace. In the latest development report shared in September, the studio had already indicated that additional time was needed to release the game in its best form. The company’s main goal is to complete FM25, which includes the series’ biggest technical and visual improvements, without rushing.
After discussions with SEGA and other license providers, it was concluded that postponing to March 2025 was the best decision to avoid risking the game’s quality standards.
Refunds
With the announcement of the new release date, some options are being offered to players who have pre-ordered. If there are users who want to cancel the game due to the delay, they will be able to get a refund.
New Reveal in January 2025
Sports Interactive plans to conduct the much-anticipated FM25 reveal at the end of January 2025. The studio acknowledges that the delayed release date has disappointed fans and expresses that they share the same disappointment. However, they stated that they need this additional time to deliver a game that will meet all players’ expectations in the long run.
Releasing FM in March is a foolish move. When will FM 26 come out? Will that also be in March of the following year? So many features had already been removed from the new game. Postponing the date you announced just two weeks ago, and making this postponement so long, shows what kind of poor planning and amateurishness is going on behind the scenes.
