New Battlefield Game Returns to Modern Times
Electronic Arts (EA) has shared the first details about the highly anticipated new Battlefield game with IGN. Vince Zampella, founder of Respawn Entertainment and general manager at EA, made important statements in an exclusive interview with IGN.
Return to the Modern Era
Zampella confirmed that the new Battlefield game will be set in a modern environment. This means we’re leaving behind the futuristic theme set in 2042.
Zampella explained this decision: “When we look at Battlefield’s peak, we see the era of Battlefield 3 and 4. We need to return to the essence of the series and do it perfectly.”
Back to Core Features
The new game is moving away from the criticized features of Battlefield 2042. For example:
- The focus will be on 64-player maps instead of 128-player maps.
- The Specialist system will be removed, returning to the classic class system.
First Image
EA also shared the first concept art of the game. The image resembles a city in Europe, although we don’t know exactly which city it is.
Future Plans
The exact release date of the game is not yet known, but EA is believed to be targeting 2025. Zampella said, “We’re testing the game every week and plan to launch a community program next year.”
This new game, which seems exciting for Battlefield fans, appears to be aiming to reach its former successful days by returning to the roots of the series.
