Epic Games Store has published its comprehensive 2024 year-end report. According to the data, the platform hit 295 million PC users, marking a 25 million increase from the previous year. Additionally, 89 free games were distributed, and players logged a total of 7 billion gaming hours.
User Base and Engagement Growth
Epic Games Store sustained significant growth in 2024. The platform’s total PC user count reached 295 million, while cross-platform Epic accounts soared to 898 million—adding 94 million new accounts in 2024 alone. Daily Active Users (DAU) averaged 31.5 million, and Monthly Active Users (MAU) climbed to 67.2 million, reflecting a 6% year-over-year growth for both metrics.
Game Catalog and Revenue
In 2024, 1,100 new games launched on Epic Games Store, expanding its catalog to a record-breaking 4,000+ titles. Third-party app spending by users totaled $255 million, down 18% from 2023. However, total spending—including Epic’s first-party titles—rose 15% to $1.09 billion.
Playtime for third-party games also increased, jumping from 2.41 billion hours in 2023 to 2.68 billion hours in 2024—an 11% surge. Programs like “Epic First Run” and “Now on Epic”, which let developers retain 100% of net revenue, gained strong traction. The “Now on Epic” initiative has been extended to January 31, 2026 and now includes mobile games.

2025 Roadmap
